How many friends do you have?

During one of the Career Guidance classes in school, this guy talking to us asked, "how many friends do you have? Ten? Fifty? Over hundred?"
And most of the girls said they had over a hundred friends because they had hundreds of facebook friends.

Take a minute or two with the answer to this question; when it feels like you are drowning, who would pull you out of that ocean?

Is there someone you know you can call even at twelve, someone who would answer the phone and stay awake for you? Someone who won't promise a hug, but will actually hug you? Well, names may come to your mind, but trust me, there will come a day when you won't be able to think of a single name.

This isn't because people suck, because friends leave. It's because that's how life is. You try to hold on to people, but they all leave. And this is why you should never ever depend on someone for happiness.

Learning to Let Go

Kumara is only a name in my memories. I think he was dark, and not that tall. I think he wore shorts, but I can’t be sure. What I do remember about him is related to bikes. Since my brother was the leader of the pack, even though the pack had three girls and only one boy, we were mostly tomboys. We never had Barbies and tea sets to play with.
