Religion (a non finger-pointing post!)

Two subjects that must be avoid in most conversations are religion and politics. Since my knowledge of politics is as vast as my knowledge of French Cuisine, I will avoid it. Instead, religion! On a forum I often visit, a discussion that interested me was, "Do you belong to a religion?" Before that I had thought about religion, but never asked my self what was expected of one. So this won't be about God or god or gods. My belief or rather lack of belief in a higher power needn't be discussed here. Instead, the general idea of a religion. What is really expected from a religion? Comfort. Religion is that blanket you feel safer with. It may be hot, and you maybe sweating and yet, you need that blanket. It gives you an odd sense of comfort. That feeling of jumping from a high place knowing a safety net will catch you. Answers. What is life? What am I here to do? What will happen to me after death? to like someone

During a conversation, a friend said something like, "I don't hate you. I mean, not that I like you either." And for those few seconds before he explained this I looked at him thinking, "Seriously dude, WTF! We've known each other since the beginning of this year, and you mayn't need to like me as someone who works with you. But we are friends and am pretty sure friends like each other!" And all this time I was trying not to look hurt! Then he said, "What I meant was that I don't like you in that way. I don't like like you. I just like you" That repeated work which gives the whole liking process a new meaning. Now when in school and having a crush was well, kind of embarrassing, we would say, "Oh! I like him." And our friends would ask, "Oooh! Do you like like him?" Now you can like people, or you can like like them. Of course to like someone is to tolerate them, to give them the time of your day. Make a drop- add list

 The Nation Everyone is so busy getting ready for 2014, or the future, that they have forgotten the year that just flew by us all. Before you make your list of New Year resolutions or buy a planner for the New Year, it is also important to look at 2013 or the ‘Old Year.’ What did 2013 mean to you? Since we are all making lists anyway, here’s one more you can and should make. Divide the paper and label one column as good and the other as bad. However, this is not where you list down all the good and bad things you did this year. Instead, write down every good, or happy memory, and then the unhappy memories. Maybe you found a new job this year. Met some amazing people. Read quite a number of good books. Spent quality time with your family. Managed to work but also have fun too. All the events you attended; concerts, meet ups, parties. Add all the memories to the list. It would be easier to go month by month. What happened in January, February and March and so...
